Dosee Doe & BullWinkle

Thanks For Your Prayers For Bully!
Update: Posted 3/2/08
Bully is doing great. Thanks for all of your emails and IMs! He has very little muscle development in his hind area but gets around just as though nothing ever happened. He just looks funny because he is fully developed in the front and boney in the back.

We all get along better in the house when he wears his diaper since he has no idea that he is even tinkling. When he poops, we just clean it up because he doesn't know he is doing that either. With a few minor adjustments to our lifestyles, we do just fine. He is a sweet boy and we love and enjoy him.

Bully is running and playing everywhere!  He walks like he has Cerebral Palsy but he is so much better.  We are still praying for more improvements.  Thanks for YOUR prayers and emails!

Friday morning when we went outside for the first time that morning at 5:30, Bully took a couple of steps and has been gradually getting better each day! I am SO thankful for that! The past three weeks has been the saddest experience to see him dragging his paws and looking at us with the whites of his eyes showing. He is wearing a diaper and ace bandages on his back legs to keep from scraping and cutting his paws. SAD! I don't allow him to drag himself but he is just the most active little fella and before I know it, he is across the room!
We have been to three vets and a therapist who all say they expect him to recover. He had an x-ray, two shots (muscle relaxers & steroids) for one week, and electronic stimulating therapy on his back for several days and an anti-inflammatory and pain pill for three weeks -and more! I have been working with his little legs and muscles and putting him in the bath to encourage him to swim. The vets say that swimming is the most helpful and less harmful form of therapy for a damaged back. I cried like a baby Friday morning! What a relief it is to see him taking steps. When he tries to walk, he looks like a drunk newborn fawn! HA HA!

You rest, I'll keep a look out!

Last night we had to take him for an emergency vet visit.  He was doing his favorite thing, playing ball and hurt his back.  Within an hour, he was paralyzed in his hind legs.  Today, we took him back to the vet.  The vet thought Bully may need surgery.  We took him to the surgeon.  There is a chance that Bully may recover without surgery.  Please pray for my baby BullWinkle's full recovery.  Thank you.  Wendy

Here I am in my diaper and ace bandages.  How humiliating!  But I am not as sad as I was in late September.

About Us:
Dosee Doe.  I am a gorgeous miniature black and tan female AKC registered dachshund. I have many nicknames such as baby girl, sister Dose (cause when my ears flip back, I look like nun!), little girl doggie, and many more!  I am the mother of three beautiful baby girls-all black and tan. If you ask me how many puppies I had I bark "one-two-three"!  I was a very good mommy.

BullWinkle.  I am a very cute, lean and muscular miniature red male AKC registered dachshund. I am the father of those three beautiful girls. I also have many nicknames which include oggie, the baby of the family, and booby-boo.  My favorite nickname of all is Superdog. If you say this nickname I sing for you. I am a very good singer. I am available for stud, hey hey hey!

Hobbies & Interests:
We love going outside and for rides in the car-especially when we are going to our Mawmaw & Pawpaw's house because we have SO much fun there!
We like chasing anything that moves and playing chase with each other.  LIFE IS A PARTY!

Family:
In April 2000, we became grandparents when one of our precious baby girls gave birth to three adorable red pups. And we now have two grandsons and one granddaughter!
Our human family is SO in love with us.  They play with us everyday and give us lots of treats.  Yummy!

Baby Bully
Wasn't I a cute little guy!

Friends:
Scooter is a miniature red male and CC is a miniature black and tan female. Dottie is our next door neighbor, she is silver with lots of black dots. Brutus is a black and tan male (who thinks he is cuter than us and his mommy and our mommy have an ongoing battle.  Our mommy is right, of course!)
We marched in the Holiday-In-Dixie Doo Dah Parade together where we met more new friends (red male dachshunds) named Sinker and Oscar. Our group is called the "LONG DOG REVIEW". It was fun!
